Our 2026 send out has started

Thanks for your interest in our collection of amazing heritage kūmara. If the variety you are interested in shows as unavailable please use the waiting list function to be informed when they become available to order. Some varieties are not yet ready and they will come online after their first pick. In order to manage demand of some very popular varieties and prevent us getting too far behind with orders they are likely to go in and out of stock over the season so please be patient and use the wait list function.

Please note that orders are not necessarily sent straight out after they are placed and will be worked through in order as tupu become available. However, depending on availability they may be sent straight away. Please use the comments section on ordering if you need them sent after a particular date. You will receive an email with tracking number when they are sent. 

All of our plants and seeds are organically grown although not certified organic. We are happy to provide information for your organic certification if you need it. We grow everything as regeneratively as possible and focus on soil health as the foundation for healthy plants in a healthy eco system. The kūmara is sold mostly in bundles of 15 tupu.

These kūmara tupu are made available through a partnership between Joseph and Catherine Land of Whirinaki, and Gail and John Aiken of Winding River Homestead in Omanaia. The tupu are grown by Joseph Land and family in Whirinaki, Hokianga. Joseph has been growing these kūmara for many years and has been given many different varieties. Gail & John, from Winding River Homestead, have worked with Joseph & Catherine for many years sending out tupu to people all over Aotearoa. They also grow the kūmara each year in their own garden to feed themselves for the year. So between us we are not only very connected with the stories of these kumara but have been growing, nurturing, eating and living with these varieties for nearly 20 years.
