Description
A beautiful and tasty perennial clumping onion which are like large spring onions. They can be used as spring onions or can be cooked. The onions to be eaten are cut from the clump low down and the clump will keep growing. As clumps establish they can be divided and replanted.
Plant in fertile soil that has been enriched with well rotted manure or compost and is not waterlogged. They benefit from a fungal rich mulch. We use partially composted ramial wood chip if available. In the height of summer we use hoops and shade cloth to protect them from the intense sun.
