About Shipping

Shipping costs

Shipping is expensive and we try very hard to get you the best value for money. We have been sending out parcels for many years and, because we are dealing with potentially fragile plant material, have decided upon the following:

  • We only send parcels tracked as we have no redress for lost parcels if they are untracked.
  • We can only send with NZ Post because of where we are located.
  • When parcels are posted you will receive an email with tracking information.
  • We send out our plant material in boxes not postage bags to protect them and prevent damage.
  • For some sizes of boxes, and particularly to the South Island, it can be most cost effective to send a box inside a track pack.

We are sorry that freight charges are high but please be assured that they reflect the actual costs incurred. For any of our send outs there may be a delay between your order being received and your parcel being posted. As indicated above you will receive an email with tracking info when your parcel is posted.

Please note that the correct shipping cost will not be calculated until you add your address details. Until your address is entered a default amount will show

For local folk

If you live locally – that really means Hokianga or Kaikohe – then we are happy to arrange collection if a convenient method can be identified. You can either pay the freight charge as usual with a credit card and most of this will be refunded if we can arrange pick up (minus the refund charge that we incur from Stripe). Alternatively, select “Direct Bank Transfer” at check out and pay for the items but not the freight. If collection can then be arranged that will be fine, if not you’ll be charged for the postage and the items posted. We are happy to arrange to meet people in Rawene or Kaikohe for them to collect their parcel only if we are going to be there anyway.
