Kūmara tupu

We are almost at the end of our 2025 send out

Thanks for your interest in our collection of amazing heritage kūmara. You will see that most varieties are showing as out of stock at present. Please use the waiting list function to be informed when they become available. We will do our last pick on 27th November and make everything that we have available then for send out on Monday 1st December.

All of our plants and seeds are organically grown although not certified organic. We are happy to provide information for your organic certification if you need it. We grow everything as regeneratively as possible and focus on soil health as the foundation for healthy plants in a healthy eco system. The kūmara is sold mostly in bundles of 15 tupu. If you are local to us in Hokianga and can arrange pick up then most of the freight charge will be refunded.

These kūmara tupu are made available through a partnership between Joseph and Catherine Land of Whirinaki, and Gail and John Aiken of Winding River Homestead in Omanaia. The tupu are grown by Joseph Land and family in Whirinaki, Hokianga. Joseph has been growing these kūmara for many years and has been given many different varieties. Gail & John, from Winding River Homestead, have worked with Joseph & Catherine for many years sending out tupu to people all over Aotearoa. They also grow the kūmara each year in their own garden to feed themselves for the year. So between us we are not only very connected with the stories of these kumara but have been growing, nurturing, eating and living with these varieties for nearly 20 years.
